5/12/01 ~ So this entry i'm just going to talk. if i piss anyone off, i'm sorry. but this is how I feel. yesterday was an awesome concert...Showoff, my boys No Cause, Nosedive (who blew me away) and Small Child orchestra from columbus...who...sucked. anyway. my day started out cool, got to work with dan and tara..that was fun. I got out of there promptly at 6pm, and made my way up to the studio so we could clean for the after-show party we were holding there. i show up and there's no cars... it was supposed to be joey, dave and myself...nobody.. fuck, so i drove home and got online when i got a call...wondering where i was, so i met them up at the practice space after cleaning up a bit... joey was energetic, as per usual.. dave was worried but cool, expectedly.  So while we were cleaning, Darek and his friend Carlos show up from No Cause... in their winnebego!!! this thing is so '77 ghetto it's not even funny!! but the winnie is awesome guys!!  so yeah.. we hung with them for a few minutes, then they left, as did I, to go up to the concert club. I got there and chilled with darek and carlos in the winnie for a li'l bit, then we were joined by dean, bobby and george along with some friends. (cute girls I must add)... so we went inside then, Courtney found me...no hug, no biggie.. I met Jason. he's a pretty cool kid.we hung around for a bit and listened to SCO play... they were just flat out bad.. I tried giving them a shot..but i couldn't... so then Nosedive comes on. These guys can ROCK!  Seriously.. They're one of my new favorite local bands!!  No Cause went on next and rocked as they usually do...'cept for when d-roq lost the monitors so he couldn't hear anything!! haha it's okay darek. then showoff went on and played a LOT of new songs... which is always cool. I don't know them as well as other emo bands... like the ataris or NFG... but i managed with my singing... after the show, everyone headed over to our practice space for the party.. when Courtney, Jason and i got there, there were hardly any people... namely joey, jamie, ed, his friend, gaffney, and a few other people... no biggie. we went upstairs and made ourselves comfortable.... and waited....and waited... i guess it was sometime between when we were cleaning and at that point in time that joey and jamie felt it was a good idea to get messed up... god damnit. I hate it. he's got cypher.. that's his thing, his spotlight. I joined the healers to be my thing, my passion.. but bad luck fell on us and we asked joey to play with us... well... when we went on after the place filled up, we started playing... we went into "When I'm Gone" which is always fun to play.. no biggie.. next up was 16-26-18... we only got through 1/2 of this because joeys drums kinda fell apart... still okay.... we went into our cure cover of 'just like heaven'... that went off really well.. and then we did american third shift worker... one of our strongest and most fun songs to play.... joey...decides he'll stop playing because he's not familiar with what we were doing.... nevermind that he was...'heavily under the influences of some mind altering barbituates''....  he always made a big deal about not getting messed up before a cypher show...but i guess that's a different story when it comes to my band. needless to say, we did Walk Away and that was it for our set...the party carried on, fun was had by most everyone... some bands jammed, but it was kinda like an open instrument night. i ended up leaving the studio around 530.... and i was hungry so i went to denny's alone.. it was very poetic in a way...eating my food watching the sun come up over the mall as people were coming in to start their day.... i hadn't finished mine...and as i sit here a day later, my friday still hasn't finished. I stayed up through the night/morning whatever...... ......... don't take any of this to heart, joey. i'm just frustrated...

today was better.. i got a hug. hugs are way way rad. Well.. sarah's way rad too. I was going to take her out to her dad's joint but apparently her friends came through and I didn't have to. I would've liked to, we could've chatted and whatnot, listened to tunes.. but it's all cool! We'll hang out one of these days i hope. more more more later on!!!
